EKM90 multilamellar smoke control damper

The maintenance-free multilamellar smoke control damper EKM90 fulfils the product standard EN 12101-8 and is classified for multiple sections in accordance with EN 13501-4.

It can be used for mechanical systems for smoke extraction and for ventilation and thus also as a so-called "combination damper". It can also be used in mechanical smoke extraction systems as well as in pressurised ventilation systems and for air discharge. The EKM90 is a multilamellar smoke control damper with a particularly short length of only 220mm and a weight-reduced design. With dimensions in nominal sizes from 200 x 200mm up to 1200 x 2000mm, the smoke control damper offers a comprehensive range of sizes. The EKM90 is suitable for volume flows of up to 155,520m³/h. Face velocities of up to 20 m/s are possible.

The fire protection tests were carried out in accordance with EN 1366-10 and EN 1366-2. The "MA" classification, which has been proven for use in Germany, means that the multi-blade smoke control damper can still be opened after full fire exposure for 25 minutes. Automatic release is also possible. Smoke extraction ducts and grilles tested according to DIN EN 1366-8 and 1366-9 may be connected.

In addition, the EKM90 multilamellar smoke control damper fulfils the HOT-400/30 classification. This means that the smoke control damper closes and opens for at least up to 30 minutes at fire exposure of 400°C.

Flexible use: The EKM90 can be flexibly installed on site with horizontal or vertical blades. Left- or right-hand operation can be selected via the installation position. The accessibility to the electrical connection compartment is also variable. This avoids errors when ordering and installing.

There is the option of on-site coating by means of impregnation and/or dispersion paints.

The EKM90 smoke control damper is maintenance-free. Due to its design and the materials used, as well as the complete encapsulation of the drive unit, it requires no ongoing maintenance to maintain its function. Regular lubrication, for example, is not necessary. This means that maintenance is limited to functional checks (releasing and reopening the slats). Because it is maintenance-free, the functional checks are easy to carry out remotely.
