VRE1-N Volume flow controller for low volume flows
Electronic VRE1-N volume flow controllers are suitable for controlling low, variable and constant volume flows. From a flow velocity of 0.8 m/s, these are controlled with high accuracy. The efficiency signal provided by the controllers is used to optimise the fan speed, thus contributing to sustainability.

Product details
VRE1-N are electronic volume flow controllers for controlling low volume flows from 0.8 m/s. Within a pressure range of 20 Pa – 600 Pa, they precisely control variable and constant volume flows in the supply and exhaust air of a ventilation and air conditioning system.
Their maintenance-free design, the option of installation in any position and the convenient adjustment via the display guarantee extremely easy handling. The casing of a VRE1-N volume flow controller is made of galvanized sheet steel.
Energy efficiency through fan control
Wildeboer has set a new standard with the electronic volume flow controllers VRE1 round and VKE1 square. The method of measuring the volume flow using the total differential pressure across the damper blade in conjunction with a characteristic diagram and the damper blade angle was placed on the market for the first time by Wildeboer on the market. This measuring method is also used for the VRE1-N. In addition, the volume flow controller provides an efficiency signal which is used to optimise the fan speed. The controller's automatic feedback on the efficiency of its operating point can help to optimise the ventilation system in terms of energy use when the signal is used.
Control accuracy of the VRE1-N volume flow controller
The total differential pressure across the damper blade combined with the damper blade angle is used as the control variable of the volume flow controller. In conjunction with loss-free transmission of the pressure signal, the measurement method ensures very high control accuracy of the volume flow over the entire pressure range of the controller.
The deviation is only about ±5 % to ±15 % of the set volume flow. The volume flow rate ranges of the VRE1-N volume flow controller from Wildeboer are at least 1 : 10, based on Vmin to Vmax.
Leak tightness classes
The casing of the VRE1-N volume flow controller has leak tightness class C according to DIN EN 1751; the leakage via the shut-off damper blade is in leak tightness class 3 or 4 from DN160 - DN400, depending on the size.
Operation modes
- Constant
- Variable with control signals 0 – 10 V, 2 – 10 V and 2 – 8 V.
- 4-point
- override control of the damper blade for the ‘open’ and ‘closed’ positions.
Product labelling
VRE1-N volume flow controllers also have an environmental product declaration (EPD) and are labelled with a hygiene certificate from an independent testing institute.
Options for the Wildeboer VRE1-N
- SRC duct silencer (lengths 600 mm, 900 mm) for noticeable reduction of flow noise
- VRE1-N volume flow controller with acoustic insulation for thermal insulation and reduction of sound radiation
- Presetting of volume flows at the factory
